John Heard Astin, nephew of Kathry Heard-Craig, was an outstanding artist and illustrator. His cousin, famed Dallas Designer John Astin Perkins (nephew of Nina Heard Astin) had an early career in architecture prior to finding his niche as the "go to" interior designer for all the wealthy of Highland Park and Dallas. Featured in Architectural Digest, Town & Country, House & Garden, and House Beautiful, his colorful room interiors were coveted by many.
Both will be highlighted in a library exhibit at the Heard-Craig Art Museum in McKinney, Texas.
