Join us in the spirit of Valentines Day for a fascinating overview of the Arnolfini Portrait. Lecturer Karla Peska will take us on a journey of undying love and share with us the Arnolfini portrait clues that tell us that. The portrait, created by Jan van Eyck (Painter from the Netherlands) "is considered one of the most original and complex paintings in Western art, because of its beauty, complex iconography, geometric orthogonal perspective, and expansion of the picture space with the use of a mirror." (Wikipedia). The lecture will highlight all the complexities of the portrait so we hope you will attend.
All are welcome and the lecture is open to the public. Carriage House (located behind the Main Museum) 12:30 PM - 1:30 PM.
Refreshments will be served for Valentines Day.
