The Magic of Monarchs Quilt Show will be held at the Heard-Craig Center for the Arts on April 10, 2021 coinciding with the downtown Arts in Bloom Festival. Sponsored by the City of McKinney, the Heard-Craig, and Stitched with Love, the Quilt Show brings additional awareness about the plight of the monarch using a contemporary and vivid art form not represented in Arts in Bloom. The monarch population has declined by approximately 90 percent since the 1990s. Monarchs face habitat loss and fragmentation in the United States and Mexico.
Applications to enter the show can be gleaned by contacting the Stiched with Love quilt shop at 972-540-5335. Quilts may be entered into 3 categories: Mini-quilts, Large Quilts, and Exhibition Quilts. There are People's Choice monetary prizes.
