Register early to attend the downtown McKinney Community WALKING TOUR with local historian and expert, Mr. Guy Giersch. Mr. Giersch is the Historic Preservation Officer for the City of McKinney and is knowledgeable about McKinney's archetecture, art, and downtown square.
Although there is a self-guided tour available to the public, this group tour focuses on the extensive knowledge that Mr. Giersch brings to the City. The tour will depart the Heard-Craig Center at 9:00 AM and conclude about 11:00 AM. Wear comfortable walking shoes. This is a great activity for new residents or for those belonging to the McKinney Newcomer's organization.
Following the tour, spread your blanket on the grass in the Heard-Craig Garden and enjoy your own picnic lunch. If you would like the Heard-Craig to order a box lunch for you, select the box lunch option when registering for your walking tour ticket (sandwich, salad, fruit and cookie).
